I worked here for about a year and a half and used to love coming in for work. I was so motivated, as a young cashier and even pushed myself to move up where I could. January 2017 something changed when the ownership was handed over to these psychos who claim to be from New York. They're very good at not leaving behind a paper trail, but purchasing the store in cash doesn't exactly scream innocent. Everyt thing just got shadier and shadier and the quality of company morale declined rapidly. Very few of those who I started there with remain, and for good reason - the owners managed to push away all of their good workers. If you want to shop at a place that's failed god knows how many health inspections, with expensive products that very well will probably make you feel sick, then Colonial Market is now the place for you.
On another note, I was faced in a situation where I was made very uncomfortable by the full time night manager. I have countless stories about the things he would say to harrass me, and only now do I realize even that it was harassment. To those who I was comfortable enough with to talk about it to, I made it known and when it came to the owners attention he told me to deal with it on my own. I was in high school! If I had that kind of power to do anything about it, wouldn't I have done so? I think about it involuntarily all the time still. That sort of thing can really mess with you and haunt you. I could go on and on about the horrors one will find if they look at this place more closely, but others who have written here recently, especially my former coworkers, have pretty much nailed it to a t.
